A 3-star hotel in Delhi charges 10% sales tax on the price of the food taken. Mr Saxena and his family had food for ₹ 685. Find the total money he had to pay.(7th class math).

Solution:Given,food sales tax = 10%

                        Total food price = Rs.685

     According to question,

Total food price x % sales tax = Sales tax Rs.

                   685 x 10% = Sales tax Rs.

                Sales tax Rs. = 685 x 10/100

                Sales tax Rs. = 68.5

Total money pay =Total food price + Sales tax Rs.

                                 = 685 + 68.5

                                 = 753.5

Therefore,Mr Saxena total money pay Rs.753.5
