Solution:Given,% of girls = 45%

              Number of boys = 440

% of boys = 45% of total student

                 = 100 - 45

                 = 55%

According to question,given no. of boys = 440

Let total student = x

then,55% x X = 440

    55/100 x X = 440

                   X = _440 x 100_

                                    55

 Total student X = 800

Number of girl = Total student - no. of boy

                         = 800 - 440

                         = 360 girls

Therefore,the number of girls in school 360.
