Rahul buys an almirah for 2,000 and spends 400 as its transportation charges. If he sells the almirah for 3,000, determine his profit per cent.(7th class math)

solution:Given Cost price(C P) of almirah = Rs.2000
                         Transportation charges = Rs.400
                          Selling price (S P) of almirah = Rs.3000
According to question,
Actual C P of almirah = C P of almirah + Transportation charges
                                    = 2000 + 400
                                    = 2400 Rs.
S P > C P ,then there is a gain or profit.
then,Profit = S P - C P
          = 3000 - 2400
          = 600 Rs.
Profit % = Profit/C P X 100
              = 600/2400 x 100
              = 25 %
Therefore,Profit 25%.
